Sock progress!

I knit on my sock some more today. It is going much better now, and I tried it on earlier and it fits over my heel! Yay! I have 2 rows left on the 3rd repeat of the pattern.
Another pic of my Cascade 220. Still not exactly the real color, but it is pretty anyway!

Knitting Stuff

I got to the 2nd repeat of the lace/cable pattern on the Saucy Socks. But there was a slight problem. Before the cable round, it fit over my heel/ankle just fine. But after the cable round, it wasn't near as stretchy and it suddenly didn't fit over my heel. I ignored the instruction on the pattern that said use a larger needle for the leg and switch to a smaller one for the foot. I had to frog it. :( Now I just started it again on size 3 dpns. Before I was using size 2 dpns. Hopefully this will fit over my heel better. :)

I figured out what row I was on on my Quinn bag! So I worked on that a little bit.

I joined Jessica's KAL for the Elisa's Nest Tote. I've been wanting to make it for a while. I'm using Sugar N Cream in the color Lavender Ice.

New Yarn!

I got $40 for my birthday and I spent some of it on some Cascade 220 for the Mrs. Darcy Cardigan. The color is #9464 and in some lights it looks blue, other lights make it look purple. I bought 4 skeins of it. I really want to start it but I need to finish my Quinn bag first. I actually took a picture of it today! Yay! sidenote: I just noticed it was almost 1:00 am!! Yay for spring break! Time flies when you are taking pics of your knitting and surfing ravelry!

This is not the true color of the yarn. It is actually a little bit darker and I don't really know. It is a tricky color to photograph but it is pretty. It's weird how different yarn colors look under incandescent and fluorescent lightbulbs.

This is a row and a half into the ribbing on the Saucy Socks that I started tonight. The yarn is Schoeller + Stahl Fortissima Colori Disco Socka and I got it from my grandma for Christmas. It is sparkly!

This is my Quinn bag that I haven't worked on since the middle of February. I think I need to frog a row or two because I lost count of which row I was on. (oops). The yarn is Cascade 220 Superwash. It was impossible to photograph because I couldn't get the color to be right. -.-

I finished the prayer shawl tonight! Now all I have to do is weave in the ends.

And the weather people were completely wrong. We did not get a SINGLE FLAKE OF SNOW. I'm not complaining at all though. :)

Stupid Weather People

You can't trust what the weather people say sometimes. I just looked at the weather today and the winter storm thing is GONE and now on Thursday it says:

Thursday
Light snow likely. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

Thursday Night
Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of light snow. Lows in the mid 20s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

50% chance of light snow isn't going to stop us from going to Bahr Creek. Ha! They are wrong again! ;)

Nooo!!

from http://wwww.wunderground.com
.. Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday morning through
late Thursday night...

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a
Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from Thursday morning
through late Thursday night.

Snowfall accumulations Thursday and Thursday night will likely
exceed 6 inches across much of southern Wisconsin. Locally higher
amounts are possible near the lake due to lake enhancement. Some
rain may mix with the snow along the Illinois border... where
slightly lower snowfall amounts are possible.

Low pressure will track along a frontal boundary from central
Missouri... to Illinois... and into Indiana Thursday and Thursday
evening. Ample moisture streaming north from the Gulf of Mexico
will be lifted over the front... producing moderate to heavy snow
across southern Wisconsin Thursday and Thursday evening.

NO MORE SNOW!!!!! I'm sick of snow!!!! I was sick of snow last month already!!! The worst part is it's on a Thursday! WHY Thursday? Why not friday or saturday? Thursday is when I get to knit at my LYS! I have $40 to spend there! :(

On a happier note, I joined the Wee Sock Swap 2008. I just almost finished a wee sock today, just for fun and a break from the monotony of the prayer shawl I'm knitting. I used the Double Eyelet Rib Toe Up Sock pattern but only the stitch pattern and I made it top down with 24 stitches. It is so cute!

Birthday!

My birthday was today (technically yesterday but oh well). I made carrot cake and we had penne with homemade marinara sauce for lunch today. I got legos (yes I'm a dork), $20 Barnes & Noble gift card, I get to go shopping at Delia's, a lemonade vitamin water <3, and cosmos seeds. Then I got $40 tonight when I went to my aunt's house for Easter. I'm going yarn shopping on Thursday! Yay! The carrot cake was really good. The recipe is Sam's Famous Carrot Cake from Allrecipes.com. I have this whole week off for spring break! It's awesome. I'm a little over halfway done with the prayer shawl. I'll probably finish it this week because I don't have anything else to do during spring break because my sister would be home but she is in Biloxi, MS on some kind of mission trip thing.
It sucked today because it snowed! I hate snow in March, especially on my birthday. >:(

Wicked sweater

I finally finished the knitting on my Wicked sweater. Now I just have to weave in a few ends and sew the pocket to the sweater! Yay!

edit: I'm having problems sewing the pocket to the sweater. I hate it. Does anyone have any tips on how to do it?

FO!

Last night I finished my shrug. It is sooo soft and it fits really well. I bought this neat button at my LYS on Thursday for it. I wore it today for the Solo/Ensemble Festival and my friends thought it was cute. I played my flute in a flute quartet and we played Colonel Bogey March. We did pretty well I think.

Start Date: February 28
End Date: March 14
Pattern: Anthropologie Inspired Capelet
Yarn: Malabrigo Chunky in Indigo
Needles: size 11
Mods: I added a buttonhole and 7 rows of stockinette each to the sleeves.

Stuff

I started this post last week but never finished it but I'll post it now. I wrote it last Friday.

For some reason, the cuff on the sleeve on my sweater is taking forever! I keep messing up even though the stitch pattern is simple!

Yesterday I went to the Milwaukee Admirals hockey game with the band because we were playing pep band at it. It was pretty fun but also aggravation since I had no time to do anything I actually wanted to do, like knit. I did have a tuna sub from Subway when I got home from school though. It was tuna, spinach, tomato, provolone, and mayo. It was delicious!

I was also mad on Tuesday because my chemistry homework was taking forever and I didn't start it right after school like I probably should have. Then I had to cook my supper (2 egg omelet and I also heated up a little bit of pasta leftovers from this amazing Italian restaurant in my town (Il Ritrovo)). Then I had a 4H meeting which was only 1/2 hour long by itself, but then we played Telephone for 1/2 hour and I wasn't just going to go home without playing games with them. I'm antisocial enough as it is! I think I also had algebra homework. And my chemistry book is online and an actual book but I never bring the book home. My internet kept dying. So I didn't have any time to knit on Tuesday.

Random stuff

New updated picture of the sleeve.
I was taking pictures of my breyer stablemates today. Macro is fun! The stablemates are only about 2.5" high, to give a perspective. This is my favorite one of the pictures I took.

I took a break while knitting the sleeve and drew this in my notebook with my blue papermate pen. I think it is pretty good.

Wicked

I finished the body on my wicked sweater and I'm about halfway done with the first sleeve. The sleeve is going pretty fast. It fits pretty well.

I finally took a picture of the little peach that I knit in December.

For once it wasn't snowing on a Thursday so I went to my LYS's knit night and I cast on for the Anthropologie Inspired Capelet with Malabrigo Chunky. I love malabrigo! It's so soft! I'm still on the raglan increases which I keep screwing up on because I keep forgetting the yarnovers. I have 3 weeks to finish it but I'll have it done before then because it is short sleeved and only a shrug. I'm going to wear it to church on March 23rd (my 16th birthday and Easter!)

I finally cleaned my room this weekend! It was getting pretty messy for a while but my sister came home this weekend and she helped me. I threw away a lot of stuff and my closet is pretty organized right now. :)

Currently OTN: (just so I can make myself think I have not that much knitting to do so I can finish this stuff and work on lessening my queue on ravelry.
Wicked sleeve #1
Shrug
Prayer Shawl (need to have this done before May - it is a mentor/mentee project and I get confirmed in May)- It is about 12-13 inches long right now.
Quinn bag - hoping to have this done before June so I can bring it to school.

After I finish that stuff, I'm going to start the Saucy Socks. They are #1 on my queue on ravelry.
